Silicon Iron Upset Forgings for Electromechanical Relays

Heat Part Hot Part into Forge
Silicon Iron Upset Forging occurs after the bar stock is heated in Queen City Forging's induction heater. The heated bar stock is then placed into our 1-1/2" Upset Forging Machine.

Silicon Iron Upset Forgings Step 1 - Preform Stage or gathering Mass at the end of the bar

Step 2 - Forging the head for the rectangular end of the bar and
Step 3 - Trimming the flash from the forged iron created in Step 2

Part Out Of Forge Before and After Part
The forged iron part is then put through a special vacuum annealing process. It is machined into its final configuration then nickel plated. Cut bar stock begun with on the left and finished component forging part ready for additional processing on the right. These parts are then ready for assembly into electromechanical relays.
